Meet the Authors- Lucky

Hi.... I'm Lucky. I'm a very, very, very timid cat, so you may not hear from me a whole lot for awhile. My life has been chaos, and I am not sure who to trust just yet. I used to live outside mostly, and would only come in to eat. Then one day, I got sick... very sick. I couldn't pee and I thought I was going to die. At the clinic, they fixed me, and everyone was very sweet and took good care of me. I went home and felt great.... but then I got sick again. This time, the family I was with didn't want to fix me. They were going to just let me die. It was very sad, they didn't even come back to see me, or even say goodbye.

When they got me out to let me die, one girl was shocked to see it was me that they were going to put down. She was very sad, because she had taken care of me before, and liked me a whole lot. So, she called my owners to ask if she could be my new owner. An agreement was reached, papers were signed and the next thing I knew, I was in surgery again and on the way to a new home.

Unfortunately, that was not the only surgery I would need- the next one was a big deal surgery and it took extra time to recovery. The good thing is that now, I am 100% healthy! No further problems!

I really do like it here, but I've never really been around humans before. I used to just come in for meals and a few pets, and spent the rest of my time outside with other cats. At first, I was scared of the strange cats, scared of the people and hid a lot. But the humans were kind and have let me go at my own pace, and since I don't try to fight with the other cats, they accepted me quickly. Me and Bouvre play a whole lot, actually. And now I hang out with the rest of the family, but I am still keeping on the fringe of things until I am sure. I accept the food, I accept the petting, but I am trying not to get too attached because.... well, you never know what could happen...
